Energy is usually wasted in three places
Piping: undersized mains, excessive bends and blocked filters raise pressure loss. Control: pumps run at fixed speed even during low demand. Leaks: ageing flanges, hoses and valves keep the pumps chasing losses.
A practical sequence
- Leak-test the whole system first
- Review piping losses and enlarge mains or reduce bends where needed
- Apply variable-speed or multi-pump sequencing to match demand
- Add receiver volume to reduce start/stop cycles
- Record running data to verify the saving
Finish with measurements: current draw, running hours and vacuum stability before and after the upgrade are the acceptance criteria.
