Defining vacuum - SCROLLVAC plus, Leybold's new dry scroll pump.
The new SCROLLVAC plus vacuum pump is the latest addition to our dry pump series. SCROLLVAC plus offers a flexible, robust and simple vacuum pump solution for a wide range of applications, demonstrating the potential of dry scroll pumps.
Vacuum pumping principle
A scroll pump consists of two intermeshing scroll forms. One scroll form is mounted eccentrically on the other and moves in an orbit relative to the fixed scroll. This creates crescent-shaped volumes that are driven from the outside to the inside, thereby pumping gas.
Capable of covering the widest range of applications...
Flexible.
We understand that flexibility and choice are essential when selecting the right dry vacuum solution for your application. With single-phase and three-phase variants and versions for special applications, you will find the right member of the SCROLLVAC plus family.
Pump versions cover 7, 10, 15 and 18 m3 /h pumping speed
Single-phase variants feature universal-voltage drives for constant performance worldwide
Three-phase, electronics-free variants for radiation and high magnetic field applications
Integrated gas ballast allows pumping of condensable vapors
The compact, lightweight design enables easy integration into your new or existing vacuum system
Ready to withstand and overcome harsh conditions……
Robust.
SCROLLVAC plus is designed to maintain performance and reliability in the most demanding applications. With the bearings completely isolated from the pumping mechanism, you can be assured of zero contamination within the vacuum envelope and excellent vapor handling capability.
A truly dry vacuum pump with the pump bearings isolated from the vacuum space, eliminating any risk of contamination
No shaft seal wear, extending service intervals and improving sealing integrity
The ideal dry pump solution for backing turbomolecular pumps and cryopumps
An optional C variant is available for certain applications involving the pumping of corrosive media and chemicals
Easy to understand and uncomplicated……
Simple.
Not only are servicing and end seal replacement quick and simple, but long service intervals mean SCROLLVAC plus can be a fit-and-forget solution.
The latest cutting-edge seal technology significantly extends the time between tip seal replacements, typically 2.5 years, to maximize uptime and productivity
Replace typical tip seals yourself in under 10 minutes for easy maintenance
Runtime counter as standard
Save money by switching to the latest technology……
The environment.
Think the environment is too big to make a difference? We are constantly working on ways to reduce our environmental impact — choosing the latest SCROLLVAC plus delivers an immediate improvement to your local workspace.
No disposal of contaminated waste oil, no costly treatment and waste oil recycling
< 55 dB(A) low noise, suitable for quiet working/laboratory environments
Lower power consumption than other pumping mechanisms
Reliable products and application expertise……
Leybold is always at your side!
SCROLLVAC plus is designed for a wide range of applications, from general laboratory, light industry and research to more aggressive chemical applications, making it easy to choose the right dry vacuum pump.

Industries
Robust pump with high vapor capacity for industrial applications including vacuum ovens, degassing, and sterilization. Also suitable for cyclic operation
No exposed bearings or shaft seals, ensuring reliable operation in many industrial applications
Multiple pumping performance options to meet all requirements
Wet chemistry
Quiet, reliable operation for biological and wet chemistry laboratories
High water vapor capacity for applications such as gel drying, centrifugal concentrators, rotary evaporators, and solvent recovery
The pump chamber and rotating parts are sealed off, so pumped gases do not react with the lubricant
The C version is suitable for more corrosive gases
Gas recovery
High tightness ensures no gas contamination or loss in gas recovery applications
Excellent helium pumping performance
The C version is ready to withstand harsh conditions.
SCROLLVAC C plus variants are designed for more aggressive applications where potential degradation of internal parts due to corrosion must be considered. Combined with a suitable purge gas flow, this means SCROLLVAC C plus models can be configured to handle corrosive solvents and chemicals:
Chemical-resistant exhaust check valve and gas ballast valve
Stainless steel inlet and exhaust flanges
Conversion kits are available to allow customers to upgrade their standard variants
